Her debut album was a huge hit, and after shifting to another label and getting greater control over her music, her second album went on to become the top-selling album of any "American Idol" former contestant. In addition to touring constantly and recording many Top Ten singles, releasing two albums with multi-Platinum status, acting as a mentor on a variety of singing competitions, and writing or co-writing most of her work, she has also won several awards that are impressive. Four American Music Awards were presented to her. There were also 12 Billboard Music Awards. She was also awarded 2 Grammy Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. So far, she's garnered 98 major music award nominations, winning seventy of these.
